Grace advances in Class A Region quarterfinals

The Grace Academy girls basketball team used a big second quarter to gain a sizable half-time advantage Friday night in their home region basketball quarterfinal match-up with South Pittsburg. Grace won 61-40.

Grace led 12-10 at the end of the first quarter but outscored South Pittsburg 12-2 in the second.

South Pittsburg played well in the third quarter but could not make up the deficit.

Grace senior Kaylan Dilts scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half, leading the Lady Golden Eagles to the win.

Winter Simpson had nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter.

Kaitlyn Eldridge hit five three pointers to finish with 15 points.

South Pittsburg was led by Kayla McMillian who finished with 16 points, including four-three pointers.

Grace hit 11 of their 16 free throws while South Pittsburg made only six of their 26.

Grace advances to play region rival CSAS, the top seed out of District 6-A on Monday at South Pittsburg.
