Looking Back: '89 Soccer State Runners-Up
Saturday, June 20th, 2009Article by: Leslie Compton / A.D.
As we continue to build this web-site, one of the things we are most excited about is the opportunity to archive our school's athletic history. As we compile that history, we want to familiarize our present students and their families with those who have gone before and paved the way for much of the success now enjoyed.
Every few days we will post a picture that details some of that history, as well as some of the people who made it all happen. We will be loosely following the "ROSTER" listed under the "CHAMPIONS" tab in the left pane on your screen.
Most days there will be a single picture. On other days a gallery of several pictures may appear. It should also be noted that we do not have equal access to pictures of all teams, and photos of many of our earlier teams are obviously harder to come by.
That, however, brings up a final point: We particulary want to re-establish communication with many of our graduates and their families. Whether you can send us copies of old photos or just participate by answering some of the questions that are presented, it would certainly be great to hear from many of you out there.
Today's picture: The 1989 District Champions & STATE RUNNERS-UP
This was three years before we joined the T.S.S.A.A. In those days we played in the Tennessee Athletic Association of Christian Schools.
