Grace Academy senior Courtney Patrick signed softball scholarship papers recently to continue her softball career at Cleveland State Community College.

Patrick has been a 5 year starter at Grace where she has played infield, outfield and pitcher. Last year on the mound she posted an 11-3 record with a .095 ERA in 81 innings of work.

Grace coach Tina Walker stated, "Cleveland State is getting a good softball player, but more importantly they are getting a wonderful young lady. Courtney has played for me since eighth grade, she has been a starter. It has been a joy to watch her grow and mature as a player and person. She is a super young lady."

Patrick states "I chose Cleveland State because they have great team work ethic and they made me feel so welcome there with their family atmosphere. They have a great coaching staff and I am really excited." Patrick is looking to pursue a career in nursing.

Suzanne Bayne, Cleveland State head coach stated, "Courtney is a great person and gives you all she has every time she steps on the field. We plan to use her on the mound and look forward to watching her grow while at Cleveland State."
